Voice Consultation

The human voice is not merely a tool for communicating one's thoughts; the nuance it conveys to others can even quite accurately describe the person's inner self.  And sometimes, this is especially true in the field of singing where even the singer's lifestyle and background can be perceived by the listener. Also, although there is nothing really fancy, some people can turn out to be so charming with the way he talks and behaves, capturing the heart of his audience almost instantly. This may prove that we try to extend one's feelings using the five senses, but when it comes to capturing them, use our sixth.

Even after successfully recovering from the inflammation or a nodule, there may be cases where a proper sound may not be voiced, or one cannot talk with confidence. Other times, we may not be totally happy with how we sound like. Although no physical signs indicate any problems (not visible with the human eye), the surest way is for the Doctor to personally listen to the patient's voice for an accurate diagnosis and therapy. Special emphasis is given to analysis and instruction as to the proper way of using the vocal cords, often times, more so than just removing a nodule or a polyp. The Doctor himself listens to the patient's voice, both live and recorded forms (tape, CD, and MD) for a complete analysis. Special advice can be given and if required, a voice training session can take place. The patient is normally asked to visit the Clinic as a regular outpatient for various tests, and if required, he or she may be booked for a special consultation by appointment. Periodical checkup of the vocal cord can be done as a regular outpatient.
As a singing otolaryngologist, I judge and treat voice from the standpoint of a singer.

When singers suffer from voice impairment, it is not uncommon for them to panic and say, "I can't sing anymore." When you worry alone at night, all the bad things run through your head and you lose sleep. Rather than worrying, please come to our clinic. Most of them are temporary and can be treated with medication. In addition, nodules and polyps do not necessarily require immediate surgery, and many cases can be cured with medication.

In our hospital can treat not only professional classical singers, but also chorus, popular, rock jazz, stage, announcer, MC, TV/radio recording, Japanese traditional music, comedians, etc.
